Very experimental outsider art-pop, the music is electronic, but highly influenced by musique concrete with lots of weird fractured beats. Sung in a variety of styles some of which don't work especially in ones where the vocals are very low in the mix making them difficult to make out. It's not as the Pitchfork review says "unlistenable", in fact I really liked most of the odd experimental music, but they are just not that good songs. The ones where his vocals are louder are better. Highlights? The title track maybe, or 'The Last Communist'? 'Scottish Lips' and 'Laird of Inversnecky' were the ones chosen for inclusion on his compilation album.
