Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.8/100, a mean average of 78.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.4.

Awesome live album, one of the best live albums I've ever heard. Hard to believe something rocked this hard in 1964.
incerdibly powerful fun.
Frenetic and awesome. I can only imagine how insane this must have seemed in mid-sixties Germany.
Love this album. Jerry Lee Lewis definitely earns his appearance fee for this performance. The energy and passion for showcasing rock'n'roll is certainly evident in this live gig.
One of the greatest and most energetic rock n roll albums I have ever heard. This is rock n roll at its finest, and deserves more recognition than it gets.
Amazing live album. Hard to believe that an album with this much energy and aggression was from back in 1964. Still sounds fresh.
JLL .. The "true" king of rock n roll. An album sent from the gods!!!!!
One of the greatest live albums of all time. An artist exorcising his demons on stage. An experience to listen to.
It´s only too short 37:48.
Do you remember where you were when you first heard a particular album? I remember EXACTLY where I was when I heard this! It was as if I had downed several instant speed pills and was instantly amped!(Which may have been what the artist had done, but that's another story...)
The sheer energy that carries JLL and the Nashville Teens through this performance will blow you away. The only reason this isn't on more lists is that it must be hard to find. I have the 1992 version on Rhino, and there is a 1994 version with one more song. Either way, RUN, don't walk to someplace with a copy. This is rock & roll in its purest energy.
