Favourite song: Piece Of My Heart
Big Brother, the creation of distorted psychedelic sludge. They gave Janis that spooky, raunchy, blues element. I'll bet this album probably scared The Beatles a little.

They were clearly not as good without Janis but Janis herself created some of her best material when she was with the band. She clearly didn't need the band to release amazing material but I think it's a shame there wasn't a follow up to Cheap Thrills with Janis.
The band was great with Janis, but without her they weren't very good. Janis was everything.

Janis was better with a band then she was on her own. These guys gave her balance... reigned her in a little.
