No other album ever had such a cultural impact on release. A first in oh so many ways: lyrics printed on the sleeve, a groundbreaking packaging that ushers in the album sleeve-as-work of art in itself, songs that flow into one another, DT (direct injection in layman's terms), music totally intended as a studio creation-not conceived then to be performed live, far-out sonic ideas galore, "hidden ending"- since become a cliché, etc... Not to mention the multi-coloured, hallucinated songwriting. Maybe not to everybody's taste but, come on, if there has to be one number one ever, this is it.

A unique blend of influences (Latin and mariachi, Burt Bacharach-type songcraft, pop songs, acid-rock,...) that make for a totally original whole. Fantastic stuff.

After the motorcycle accident, Dylan entered an 18-month period of public silence before re-emerging with this spellbinding collection of a dozen musical parables. Endless cover versions of these songs began to appear immediately upon release.

The companion piece to "Sgt Pepper's...". The Beatles at their most psychedelic. 'nuff said.

A tribute to the recently gone British pirate radio stations, this album is brimming with invention and humor. And electric pop gems.

A double-set originally packaged in a luxurious box (a first!) in two parts: one for the grown-ups (disc 1), the other for "the little ones". Timeless, poetic, folk-pop.
