Miles Davis is my favorite artist of all time. It was difficult to choose an album to represent here. But Filles de Kilimanjaro is perfect for me. An impressive blend between the period of the second quintet and the crazy electric years. Listen loudly!!(First added to this chart: 03/27/2017)

Difficult to speak about Frank Zappa genius in few lines. Together With Miles Davis became my favorite artist. After I met him I was crazy and addicted to his discography, so much so that one of my hobbies is to collect vinyl records of Frank Zappa. In addition to the creativity and skill in the guitar, I highlight his unique irreverence in the history of musicians, really a unique artist. To represent Zappa well in the list I chose one of the records that I like the most(First added to this chart: 05/06/2015)

The most successful Brazilian music artist in the one that I consider his best work perhaps together with the album called Urubu. In partnership with Claus Ogermann, who delivers some of his best work on this album. It's one of their best efforts. Also the influence of the Brazilian genius os classical music Heitor Villa-Lobos is felt everywhere. In the 70s, we have a slightly different Tom Jobim. Moving towards a more mature sound, I have drifted away a little bit from his Bossa-Nova roots, exploring other sounds like electric-jazz or MPB. An obligatory album for those who like Brazilian music.(First added to this chart: 06/09/2015)

Ram is part of me. I love this album. I memorized every musical note, every detail of the record. The context in which it was recorded in secret in New York with hired musicians contributed to a differentiated aura present in the album. Anyway, I find Ram extremely creative and to this day I listen almost daily(First added to this chart: 03/20/2015)

Os Mutantes is the best Brazilian band of all time and undoubtedly one of the biggest in the world in the 60s. I believe that in terms of psychedelia they were the best in their time. Arnaldo Baptista is simply a genius. Hard to choose an album to be on the list, it could honestly be any of them. I pick the most progressive one. Os Mutantes are essential for anyone who likes music!(First added to this chart: 04/04/2019)

Fela Kuti was lightyears ahead of his time. He is the biggest representative of black music, jazz fusion, afrobeat, funk, soul and even psychedelic, all encased within traditional West African rhythms and chants, music that’s set free by intoxicating drumming. This is visionary music!(First added to this chart: 05/17/2019)

"Averse to criticism after a bad moment, the Ira! Members locked themselves in the studios, and decided to create a record where they did not have to show anything to anyone, just for them even though it was still possible to do something they liked. Anger of the members towards the press made them decide to self-produce.This was one of the best records in Brazilian rock history.Psicoacústica took shape and became what many today call visionary, daring, creative and even cursed and suicidal. psychedelia with hip hop, rap, reggae, mod, heavy metal and other less relevant genres make the album difficult to assimilate in the first auditions. But after careful listening, it is impossible not to savor every second of a seminal album that turned to be years later the most acclaimed and worshipful record of the band."(First added to this chart: 01/10/2018)

A masterpiece. The way the album was recorded is as fascinating as the album itself. This is the edge of the Stones with Mick Taylor and Keith Richards. Absolutely amazing and bluesy(First added to this chart: 05/06/2015)

Fantastic mix of 60s psychedelia, 70s prog, and some lesser known jazz picks, alongside a healthy smudge of music from your homeland. Really love this chart and your notes, even if the intersection of our tastes is relatively small.
Only thing stopping me from giving a perfect score is that I feel that some newer genres get sidelined a little in favour of the 'classic rock' era (would be nice to see some hip hop/electronic creep in!) but otherwise a top chart and one of my favourites.

This is so good. A ton of forgotten or less known 60s/70s gems that I love, and so many new stuff to listen to. Great chart!

Great, diverse picks, though fairly focused on the 70's. Nothing wrong with that though, the 70's were great! Anyway, if you haven't heard some of Herbie Hancock's slightly less famous works, I'd definitely recommend you check them out. Crossings and Sextant are two of my personal favs, as well as his excellent debut.

I don't know a lot of the Brazilian music but the stuff I do know is all super cool. Seeing Ram and On The Beach in the top ten is awesome.
