"This double album is a story of 2 (or maybe 3) parts. First, 12 tracks 1-8,20-22,24 are the ones you primarily want. And if I rated it on just those, it would be like 8.5/10. Then there's the Sha Na Na songs which are mostly adequate covers of classic songs. Then there's all the "background" trac..."  [+]  Reply

"Rock and roll fans who have yet to delve into the Drive By Truckers' entire catalog have no idea what they are missing. They rock incredibly hard, are alternately smart, funny and righteous, feature multiple talented songwriters, and put on a killer live show."  Reply

"Jimmy Smith's most popular album and often considered his best, but too much of Stanley Turrentine's tenor and not nearly enough organ for my taste. I recommend "House Party" over this if you like straight-ahead jazz, and if you want to hear Smith stretching out on the organ, check out "Groovin' ..."  [+]  Reply

"It was a solid follow up. I'd draw parrallels to this and A.A.L's (Against All Logic) follow up album. It's solid, but the first one was so great that I've set the bar too high. It's good Jamie xx sound, but this feels like b-sides from the first album rather than a cohesive project, unique take,..."  [+]  Reply

"What an oddyssey. This album may have lots of filler, but it really is an unforgettable ride about monsters, epic fights and existencialist robots. Not quite as good as "Flying Microtonal Banana", but worth listening to just for the fun of it. Highlights: "Altered Beast I", "Lord of Lightning", "..."  [+]  Reply

"The key to the album success was You’re So Vain which topped the US singles chart and was # 3 in the UK. The subject of the song has been debated ad nausem but Carly has stated that it is about an amalgam of vain men she has known rather than a single person. The album is packed with other great ..."  [+]  Reply

"Like an XXX-era Danny Brown if he was raised on tea and biscuits in a Northampton council estate. And that's not an arbitrary comparison. When I first listened to Nothing Great About Britain, the yelping raps, bipolar tones and erratic production instantly had me picturing a younger Danny Brown. ..."  [+]  Reply
