Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 25% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.5/100, a mean average of 72.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.7.

What RockyRaccoon said. This man is just fabulous. He really has his own unique vibe and sound. I have no words to describe how much I love this record or his other 2 albums or his 2 EPs. This highlight musically of every 2 years is the release of a new Tallest Man On Earth. I hope this year (2014) provides a 4th installment. Fingers crossed.

Oh and "Criminals" is truly one of the greatest songs ever. The guitar playing is so good, it's like getting laid by Marilyn Monroe.
And also tracks "Leading me now" "1904" "Little brother" the title track and "bright lanterns" are gorgeous too.

I don’t think words can accurately describe how much I love Kristian Matsson, aka The Tallest Man On Earth. His music, his albums, are just flawless. They really are. I have not heard an album of his, and he’s released three and two EPs, that I thought was bad, or even that I thought was mediocre. It’s all been incredible. His voice is a little odd, but not that bad, I like it a lot. His lyrics, his guitar playing and his music is just incredible and I love it. This album is no different. Every song is well-written both musically and lyrically, some of the songs are very emotional and some are fun and catchy. If you haven’t listened to The Tallest Man On Earth yet, I implore you to listen to this album and especially to “The Wild Hunt". His music is phenomenal.

Great album, as usual. It's amazing what he can do, generally with just his voice and a guitar.

It's a really pleasant whimsical album that doesn't try to impress with fancy tricks. Feels the artist is treading water with this and nothing in particular stands but to find faults with the actual sounds... no can't do that. They are lovely sounds!

A good album but Wild Hunt IS better. A few good songs on here though especially 'There's no leaving now'.
