Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Nice Ramones picks, Bon Jovi is sort of my guilty pleasure so it's ok but some choices aren't really my cup of tea. Add descriptions, it'll be much more interesting that way

London Calling and Born to Die are really strong selections. I've tried listening to Linkin Park and just can't quite understand the appeal.

Some standout gems, so really questionable picks. Meh...
Punk, metal and early rock n roll. Great to enjoy all these albums. Actually Adele 21 seemed almost out of place . But it's a great album everybody loves it

Dude, I really want to like your chart, with Avril Lavigne on it and all. But Hollywood Undead at #1? Really? THOUSAND FOOT FRICKING KRUTCH!!! Dude, that stuff really has to go.
