Been updating this chart a lot more frequently recently and I think it reflects the music I like and listen to better than ever. My hope is that everyone who finds this chart will come away with at least one new album to enjoy.
I'm still in the process of adding notes to my picks, so bear with me!

If you've never listened to Fishmans, you're gonna wanna get on that right away. If you've never smoked weed, go ahead and get started on that too. Then do both of them together for a life changing experience. The atmosphere on this album is incomparable, and the fact it was recorded live makes it even more impressive. The band's reggae background gives all of their songs a laid back feel, but even on the songs leaning more towards psychedelic rock and there isn't a bad groove to be found.
Best moment: The guitar solo on ひこうき (Hikouki) when it turns into a high energy jam over a single chord (Or the entirety of the modern-day psychedelic symphony Long Season, but that seems like a cop-out). [First added to this chart: 01/10/2019]

I love Dummy because for its time it was a perfect synthesis of past, present and future. The drum breaks and turntablism of early 90s hip hop, the words coolly delivered in a way reminiscent of vocal jazz, futuristic electronic beats and reverb heavy guitar from 60s psychedelia fit seamlessly together. Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Really great mix of genres and time periods, plus I love the notes you've written so far. That Russian album is the only one not on my radar, will have to give it a listen!
