Top 100 Greatest Music Albums ratings
Average Rating = (n ÷ (n + m)) × av + (m ÷ (n + m)) × AVwhere:

n = number of ratings an item has currently received.
m = minimum number of ratings required for an item to appear in a 'top-rated' chart (currently 10).
AV = the site mean average rating.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 3% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 89.5/100, a mean average of 88.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 89.7/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 13.0.

Not have Been here in a long time ( lol not in BEA in a long time) but it's still surprises me that always when I come back here everything seems new, even I already knowing some albums descriptions, it is amazing how you and music can say so much in two words, feels like there are little but vey little words between those biggest words, but they are so small that we can't read, but our subconscious part can, so it transmit to us that message unconsciously and we create so many images only in 2 words, and always inovating in the way to describe each one, that's why I love it so much too, each album really looks special for you, the feeling behind the descriptions....goddamn amazing chart
Hey! First off, wow, 27 albums and 34 artists in common?!?!! Nice!
Next, I am really digging This Modern Lovers album a LOT! Gonna go in my chart soon I think! I thought of a recommendation for you while listening... Okay you already know about it, it's "So Alone" by Johnny Thunders . I think it's right up your alley. It's awesome!
Oh and check out the proto punk band Death, the album "...For The Whole World To See". I'm only just recently even hearing of them, but they were this great, undiscovered punk band in Detroit in the early 70s. You'll probably love that too.
Wow. Truly super awesome chart. I don't know how I missed it. There are very few albums here that I don't love to death. And there are also a good amount of records I never listened to. I really need to get around that XTC album for example, it seems great. And I am actually listening to Haha Sound by Broadcast as I type this, it's pretty good ^^ I'll have to give it another spin though.
Anyway, very good job, your chart is mind-blowing :D
Always love your chart College Boy, wonderful how it's not at all afraid to embrace the present. While there are some pecuilar choices from a personal standpoint (I definitely don't think Lana has made 4 of the greatest 100 albums ever) but which make sense with this likewise very personal chart, there are many wonderful little surprises that immediately brings a smile to the face, especially seeing Quarantine at the very end ^_^
you have heroes at least...... AND YAY LIZ PHAIR UPVOTES max 10000000
