Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by jtrizzle35 Unknown

Way too hard to rank albums in one set order. To make things easier, I just rank them in the order that I am likely to play these albums in the car while driving alone. I am aware that the majority of these albums were released fairly recently.... I am but a young man born in the late 90s.

Also it's worth noting that I am slowly but surely adding writeups to all of these albums. Thanks, love you guys.

Name an album with better interludes I dare you. Actually, name a better album I dare you. I really like the part when "Things I Imagined" flows into "S McGregor" (interlude) which flows into "Down with the Clique" which flows into "Way to the Show" which flows into "Can I Hold the Mic" (interlude) which flows into "Stay Flo" which flows into "Dreams" which flows into "Nothing Without Intention" which flows into "Almeda" which flows into "Time (Is)" which flows into "My Skin My Logo" which flows into "We Deal with the Freak'n" (intermission) which flows into "Jerrod" which flows into "Binz" which flows into "Beltway" which flows into "Exit Scott" (interlude) which flows into "Sound of Rain" which flows into "Not Screwed!" (interlude) which flows into "I'm a Witness." Also the director's cut of the visual album is absolutely phenomenal.

Favorite associated memory: I had a Fluid Dynamics exam on March 1, 2019. I listened to this album the second it dropped at midnight, while I was still studying for the exam. Once I hit play, I realized that this album was much more important than my exam so I simply stopped studying and just enjoyed Solange's angelic vocals in the middle of the library while the rest of my friends continued to stress over studying.

Kendrick really freaked it on this one. So did Jay Rock.

Favorite associated memory: Rapping along to M.a.a.d. City driving back to school with my friends after going out to eat at a delicious Chinese restaurant. Volume was all the way up, so we could all fully appreciate the beat changes.

Sometimes I think this might be the best album ever made. How could someone possibly write a song like Only Skin? Or Emily? Or Cosmia? Or Sawdust and Diamonds? Or Cosmia? What does Joanna know that nobody else in existence knows. Why has nobody else ever been able to create music that has even come close to sounding like this? It's genuinely nuts.

Favorite associated memory: February of 2020 was when I initially got into this album. I was a senior in college. And I was insanely sick! I was in bed for a week straight incapable of doing anything really. Some might say it was the flu. Others might say that I was Patient Zero for another major sickness that became very prominent just about a month later.... very very interesting. ANYWAYS, I couldn't muster up much energy that week to listen to very much music. But I did listen to Emily quite a few times while laying in bed that week, and I spent a good amount of time googling whether or not meteorites are actually the source of the light. And yes this is all somehow a fond memory. I'd go back to this moment in time in a heart beat.

This has so many ideas jammed into 23 minutes. Every single one of the ideas sounds fantastic. They took the previous 30 years of popular music and flipped it on its head, exaggerating every aspect of it until it essentially sounds like a deep fried meme in album form. Getting into this album has caused me to think that the noises the motors in a 3D printer make are musically interesting. Anyways, 5 stars.

Favorite associated memory: Taking a break from studying for my finals and filming myself violently dancing to Money Machine in the bathroom mirror.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 10% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 87.9/100, a mean average of 87.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 88.7/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 12.0.

Some great albums - not the order I'd agree with (no surprises there).

Cool chart! Lots of modern stuff but that's fine.

I like your writing at the top. You prefer the new stuff and good on you. I roll my eyes every time I see a list with 70 albums in the 60s/70s. And I do like a lot of the picks too. Could still probably use a little more diversity. There are some really great hidden gems from the 20th century. No, not beatles/stones/who/floyd.

When I Get Home is indeed a bliss, maybe I should add it to my chart too.

I really like your chart, and the surprises in it. But the majority are still these ermm... household names. Just saying, don't be afraid to step on the toes of some people on this site; they won't be satisfied until your chart is literally 1. Radiohead, 2. Pink Floyd, 3. Arcade Fire. You know, I would love it if I could find some new music through your chart, because I think you have good taste. But I think I can count the albums I don't know on one hand (which is still better than most people here though).

But hey, if this is just your unfiltered opinion, I've said nothing. Keep up the good work.

Some interesting choices that I wouldn't have selected. But to each his own. I like seeing a lot of picks from the 2010s.
