Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Can't argue with the classics. Top 10 is pretty straightforward though, not so diverse, but at least it's not 8 Radiohead albums and 2 Arcade Fire albums

Seems you are one of the seniors... the music is good as far as I know it... maybe too many classical albums

Lots of great music here ... but greatest/best of packages. For T-Rex start with "Electric Warrior"(1971) or "The Slider"(1972) and The Stones that all depends on your favorite era.
