Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by

Edit: 12/03/2021 this is today's chart of the day, I just want to thank you all for being so nice and reciprocating, there are a lot of artists that I must check out and a lot of things i must put in order before finishing this, to be honest with you, I don't know if i will ever get to finish it, not because I don't want to, but because I don't have too much time nowadays, but yeah, whenever I have the chance to, i will re-visit this chart, delete albums, add albums, etc.
Look, this chart is a mess, mostly because i can't bring myself to advance as much as i would like to. But my idea is to make a chart that it's as equally divided; filled with popular records and with records that i think deserve more attention, a 50/50, if you will... But I don't have that kind of knowledge yet, well, maybe that isn't it, i think it's mostly that i want to pick records that i'll be comfortable with, and as of today i would say im about 30% happy with this chart, and look, I don't want to sound like a total indie guy or like someone who hasn't an opinion on his own either, or maybe even both. i'll try to utilize every space in this chart to say how i feel about the record and why i love it so much and give a little bit of trivia in the process, sometimes i will get so inspired that i will even try to write some bloody awful poetry, even if i know i might not have the widest vocabulary to do it. I do think that the one artist per chart rule is fair, but i don't want to use it, because there are so many records/artists i think they deserve all my love, even if they already had more than enough of it, lol, but that will change in the future (IT DID, SEE "EDIT") it's not like Radiohead or The Strokes need more points on BEA than they already have, so I don't know, we'll see... I do appreciate all feedback and even appreciate that you are here looking at this mess, i will update here each descriptions i have done, if you want to check them out you are free to do so, cause i honestly don't have any idea of when i'm going to finish this, but yeah, that's it.
I might be a lazy af, but when i do get to write, i write a lot (most of the time) so BEWARE.
Ohhh and some of the records have descriptions in both spanish and english just for the sake of it and because they actually help me to get my thoughts together and to do a more focused inspection on the record, BUT i will translate all that, so don't worry.
Descrpitions made so far:
- Bob Dylan - Blonde On Blonde
- The Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen
- Kanye West - The College Dropout
- Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Love Bad News (This record has now been removed from this chart, but the original description is in my other chart, which is a recollection of the records that were in here, but for a reason were eliminated)
- GZA- Liquid Swords
- Yes - Fragile
- Buena Vista Social Club - Buena Vista Social Club
-Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane
-Silversun Pickups - Carnavas
-The Doors - Morrison Hotel
-The Cars - The Cars
-Babasónicos - Jessico (already translated)
-Pre)Thing - 22nd Century Lifestyle
Well, if you see more descriptions that aren't mentioned in here it might be because a) they aren't finished yet b) they suck... But anyway you are free to read them as well, I will try to finish them/improve them later... i just had a Déjà vu about this...
Well, enjoy!
EDIT: I'm totally convinced now that this chart sucks lol, don't get me wrong, I do love every single record i picked, but there is so much wasted potential and empty spaces that all in all, it just doesn't feel right, so I finally decided to improve it a little bit. You see, my biggest fear with this chart was not being able to give as many points as i think an artists deserve, and. I am truly sorry for every record that was left behind, i wish i could give every one of them 100 points, haha, but since i can't do that i will do my best to make this chart look how i think it should look. So as of now, i will apply the one artist per chart rule (EXCEPT for The Afghan Whigs, I really love that band) And additionally, i will do another chart with the albums that were eliminated from their position within the chart and also i will do another with my favorite records, so i won't have to be limited by the same rule again.

The sound of this record is reminiscent to The Smashing Pumpkins (like people have said in the past) mostly due to the vocal style that Brian Aubert (lead singer of the band) utilizes throught the whole record and the similarites between his screams and Billy Corgan's screams, anyways, it doesn't feel like they are a SP ripoff (I'm referring to The Smashing Pumpkins not to Silversun Pickups... ohh crap they even have the same initials!) or anything like that, Silversun Pickups have their own style; a mixture of alternative rock and pop. There are a few memorable riffs in Carnavas, and you can feel the energy in every single track, even if it's a sad/nostalgic track like in the already mentioned "Lazy Eye", a weird feeling, a pleasent feeling. Unlike in some records, in this one it doesn't feel like there are filler tracks; every single song has it's unique vibe to it. I love the drumming in "Common Reactor" and in "Three Seeds", the guitar in "Little Lover's So Polite" that almost reminds me to something Sparklehorse would have done in the late 90's and the vocals in "Melatonin", beautiful stuff.
Melatonin: This is my second favourite track from the record, i just love the oversaturated sound to it, and how the song keeps building until it reaches the "And we said aloud" part. this is as mid 00's as you can get. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS TRACK.
Well Thought Out Twinkles: The main riff of this song almost remind of Hendrix, as dumb as it might sound, it has the energy and the style, of course the things change as soon as the vocals and the other instruments start to appear. Great song, not surprised to se rated as the second best of the record here, i prefer Melatonin and Future Foe Scenarios, though.
Future Foe Scenarios: An intense and a pretty catchy track overall, love the screams in this one... "Who do you work for, baby? And does it work for you lately"... Damn!
Lazy Eye: The very peak of Silversun Pickups, one of my favourite songs of the 00's. There is nothing i can say about this one, besides that i love everything about it; the beat, the riff, the lyrics, this song is wrapped in a complex package of feelings that i cannot describe, even if it is six minutes long (like i said earlier) when it is about to end you feel like only a couple of minutes have passed, it seems to tell you a story that it's complete, but at the same time it isn't. Perfect track. Ohhhh and if you haven't watched the video of this one i highly recommend you to do it, it captures the whole escense of the song, i don't even know how they did it, but they did.
BONUS: If you can get the chance to listen to the two bonus tracks that came in the Japanese vinyl version of the record (Mercury and "Table Scraps"), do it! those songs are totally worth it, in fact, i'm a bit angry that "Table Scraps" didn't made it to the original cut, cause it's an excellent song, if it had been in the record i would have placed it as my 2nd favourite song from Carnavas, so dark yet so hypnotizing, love that song! Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 1% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 91.5/100, a mean average of 94.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 94.1/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 6.1.

Some fantastic choices here
I love Amnesiac for Radiohead

The descriptions are great, love it. Great chart as a whole too, I've listened to most albums but grabbed some recs from those I haven't heard.
Great chart.
The descriptions are spot-on, man. Added to favorites, because I want to come back when there's more of them. Keep it up
Just here for the descriptions. Your music preference is your own. The justification is what makes the list great. Keep it up.
Always happy to see LCD up on top. Surprised to not see any Arcade Fire / Sigur Ros / War on Drugs. Feel like they'd tie-in well with your other albums on here. Cheers.
This chart is great! So many great albums and some others that must be great and I need to check.
buena lista

I'm kinda unsatisfied with it to be honest, but i'm glad you liked it! that gave me a bit more energy to write some descriptions :) thanks a lot for your support man, i really have problems with managing my time, so i never finish anything :(

Man, this is just what I needed. Blonde On Blonde description is by far the greatest new thing I've read here in months.
