Favourite Album Covers
by Crhmgs

Don't judge a book by it's cover; judge a record instead... Or don't

Look, i haven't listened to some of these records (i will) but i'm just a sucker for art in general, and even if i don't like the record in question i can still be fascinated by it's cover. From time to time i will name a song, a feeling or a thing i relate that record to.

Edit: I Feel so good that i could complete this thing. I want to thank the academy and everyone who gets to read all the dumb shit i wrote, bye :)

Love the subatomic particle's version, but the original cover is got to be one of the greatest album covers of all time. [First added to this chart: 10/13/2020]

Who's gonna drive her home tonight?

This cover is the closest i can get to show anyone what i mean with the desperation of what's beneathe the surface. This image it's spiritual to me; slow drums, soft guitars and the of sorrow of the things you couldn't say are some of the ideas that come to my mind when i look at this. To me, this is like seeing everything at the same time; infidelity, ecstasy, true love, caring about someone, being alone at night and reflecting about all of these concepts, even wondering about the core idea itself. Sad and Sensual beyond words, hypnotica.

"De Alto Cedro voy para Marcané, llego a Cueto voy para Mayarí"

It's impossible not to feel the elegance of being under a palapa while having a drink and smoking a cigarette, relaxing on a sunny sunday afternoon while watching the sea waves travel trough your eyesight, sometimes it feels like you are all alone at this cuban paradise and at times, that's all you need.

But man, this is THE album cover, you cannot get more stylish than this. And don't even get me started on the band's name which is genius, my guys knew exactly what they were doing when they borrowed the name.

This is one of my all time favourite album covers, that kid is literally watching trough you, trough your soul and you don't know what he wants, the uncertainty on his eyes is one hell of a feeling. Whenever i see this cover, i hear that heavy riff from Russia On Ice, and yeah, i know that song isn't even in here, but in my mind it somehow fits. [First added to this chart: 10/13/2020]

Never knew why i was always drawn to the suffering of this poor man, but the ambiguity of the whole thing makes me theorize about a lot of shit, maybe he just got the bends. [First added to this chart: 10/13/2020]

Now, i really like the title as well, you cannot get more enigmatic than this, it almost feels like whoever who's next is not going to return and they know it, love the 2001: A Spacy Oddysey reference. [First added to this chart: 10/13/2020]

I enjoyed your list and reading your musings about the covers. Appreciation of art is always subjective, yet I share your perspective on many of the images featured here. I was particularly amused by your view of the guy on the cover of the Devo album as "The first guy to die in the movie." Keep up the great work.

Totally agree with a lot of your picks.

Buena Vista Social Club does have a great vibe.
