Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by Spyglass

My chart is ordered from best to worst. These albums I have chosen are albums that go above and beyond the boundaries of music, and have brilliance to share in whatever forms they take. All of the albums I've chosen are very special to me in one way or another, even if they're outside of my comfort zone, because a comfort zone doesn't matter when you're trying to comprehend all forms of music.

I've added little stories that describe my feelings when listening to each album. They're quite odd, but I love a little odd now and then.

Cool Jazz

"There there, I know your pain. And I'm here to tell you that someone else out there shares your pain. You're not alone. My saxophone and I have been everywhere. We know the look of a brother in need of a hug. There's no other look in an eye like the brotherless soul. If you don't know who your brother in this world is, I'll take his place until you find him. And something that helps me overcome my abysmal levels of sorrow is to talk through my saxophone, so it can talk back to me. It works every time."

Modern Classical

"Spring is not a simply cheerful, childish time for birds to sing cute little songs and children to play in the grass and water. It's a powerful force that cannot be stopped. It redefines the world as we see it, and spreads happiness across the world. Happiness itself may be the epitome of cheerfulness, but the force at which Spring renders us all in a high emotional state is so terrible that such a thing needs to be addressed. It's almost as if the seasons control us. We address these changes in a celebratory way with our holidays, but are the changes always so celebratory if we're linked together in a way that almost spells the doom of freedom and the will to change ourselves? These so called "changes" are a cycle and a force that cannot be stopped. If we're not careful, we'll become a part of it."

Post-Bop

"There's more to the life of a bar band. They share the stories of the customers, and the customers relate to the stories they're told. Tears make for wonderful conversation starters. A teardrop is the hardest thing in the world to fake. The drink mixes the emotions into something indescribable, which is the inspiration for avabt-garde jazz. Bebop comes from the life of the party, and smooth jazz comes from the reason most people go to bars: to cry."
