Top 100 Greatest Music Albums
by Spyglass

My chart is ordered from best to worst. These albums I have chosen are albums that go above and beyond the boundaries of music, and have brilliance to share in whatever forms they take. All of the albums I've chosen are very special to me in one way or another, even if they're outside of my comfort zone, because a comfort zone doesn't matter when you're trying to comprehend all forms of music.

I've added little stories that describe my feelings when listening to each album. They're quite odd, but I love a little odd now and then.

"There's corruption everywhere. There's corruption in the shadows of the streets you walk through endlessly without a guide you can see. There's corruption in the neon lights that serve you your beer. There's corruption in the jazz music played at the clubs you pass while going to work. There's corruption in the human. There's corruption in the robot. Whatever rights people claim to kill passively are nothing but another excuse to assume dominance of one form or another. In the end, robots and humans are only different because of their parts."

"I need someone to talk to about the relationships between an average man and the average noir. Did those old movies get so popular because stories like that happen everyday? That seems to be my whole life. I'm doing fine most of the time, but it's hard to let go of a lot of things."

"I'm drunk, and I'm drugged. You just can't imagine what I'm seeing right now. For example, you look like a walrus head. Your wine looks like my dick, and I'm making out with a goddess of storms."

"I have succeeded in finally creating an android with the emotional and psychological perception of a human, and yet, I'm not so excited as I thought I would be. Maybe it's because I knew this was going to happen. Seeing my android interact with other people is no longer like witnessing my creation redife the world, but more like watching my son delivery lifelong memories to me."

"I try not to scream. Screaming is the same as succumbing to your pain, and acts as a predecessor to suicide. To slowly let out your pains through mellow whispers will suffice. It's not yoga, or something as spiritual. It's a simple process anyone can partake in: calm your nerves while fixating on your pain. Don't ignore them, just give them a slow push."

"Not to make assumptions or be rude, but I believe I can see into your mind. I might not know your greatest achievements, deepest sorrows or even what you had for breakfast, but I can make an educated guess at everything that surrounds you and how you soak it in. Could you make a list of the many things that you take for granted, all because you compare all that's good and golden with things born of evil and soot? The pain that you are going through this very moment (and have been for thousands of moments just like this one) is simply a variant of the pain anyone else could be going through. Through connecting all of these variants of pain into one human category, we're all someone who deserves a kind examination of the soul, so if you're willing to let me see what you want me to see, I'll help you see the world in a new light."

"Upon the seas of life I find a map before unseen, not charting stars from up above but navigating dreams. In desperate times I found myself in poor-man's Shangri-La, with no known way to enter but to fantaize it all. And now I bear a map through all my dreams of childhood, of sailing seas all soaked with blood and battling for good. A theme for total conquest I apply to total peace. For when I find this realm of mine, reality will cease."

Atmo-Sludge Metal / Post-Metal

"I've written too many poems on my old war life to forgive myself. My whole life has been dedicated to the stench of death and the droppings of bombs that I thought I had ran away from. If I don't stop writing, the past will haunt my dreams. When you're at war, you can't focus on the vibrant daytime sky. You can only focus on the smoke coming from the wounds you've dealt to the earth, and like an optical illusion... the whole sky goes gray. Your memories are distorted, much like your mind once you've set foot on the battlefield."

The weather has feelings to. You don't really have to be a spiritualist to figure it out. The one thing a weatherman gets right, is predicting the feelings of the weather, rather than nature's actions. The people in it also affect the weather. They're the ones taking the world with a grain of salt, and that's why Mother Nature sometimes acts irrationally, or seemingly irrationally. I guess if we become more in tune with her, not by environmentalism or saving animals, but just by chatting with her every now and then, we could start something new and beautiful for our planet. I once heard from a spiritualist that even if we destroyed the world through some sort of apocalyptic catastrophe, Mother Nature would live on. God placed her on this Earth for a reason, and that's why she's the only natural being on Earth who can't be killed."

Acoustic Blues / Acoustic Rock

"I hope you don't mind, but I'm gonna reinvent myself for an album or two, if that's alright. I know a lot of you like it when your favorite artists stick to the same old stuff, but the truth is that my style was originally built for the acoustic guitar. Maybe I can open your mind a bit. There's real poetry when it comes to acoustica, and it's too bad people are too modernized to see it."
