Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by
Spyglass
My chart is ordered from best to worst. These albums I have chosen are albums that go above and beyond the boundaries of music, and have brilliance to share in whatever forms they take. All of the albums I've chosen are very special to me in one way or another, even if they're outside of my comfort zone, because a comfort zone doesn't matter when you're trying to comprehend all forms of music.
I've added little stories that describe my feelings when listening to each album. They're quite odd, but I love a little odd now and then.

Roots Rock / Folk Rock
"Come, brothers, and let us glorify that which the devil tries to claim for himself: our untainted songs of the homeland in which we stayed young until becoming men by the pulling of our guitar strings. Upon this rock will the foundations of music be formed, and let those who preach this word join in for one last dance. And let the dance be a symbol of how our spirits will live on as the pioneers of this ever-expanding and ever-changing belief that rock will never die so long as the waltz is still danced. Separated we are heroes, but together we are Olympians." [First added to this chart: 04/04/2020]

"No ticket required. All you have to do is shoot a man in Reno, and record him dying with a camera. Play me the video, and I'll judge how much masculinity you had when you killed the man. It helps if this was the manner in which you decided to divorce your 'wife.' Play me the video, then I'll show you what a real cowboy is like." [First added to this chart: 04/04/2020]

Prog Rock
"Progressive rock? Don't call me that anymore. I literally invented the term back when my first album came out. You were supposed to be your own man, but instead you studied me like a stalker forcing his own pen into my book. How dare you call yourself progressive! It only took you five years to make me feel unoriginal. But I will continue to reinvent myself. And I will play the music you don't understand. It is the music you think you know since you like to copy me, but is really the music you fear to play or even tolerate: music from the heart." [First added to this chart: 04/03/2020]

Southern Rock / Jam Band / Blues Rock
"For today's jam session, we'll be playing for the South and all of the good that it stands for. None of that grits-and-taters stuff, none of that all-Southerners-are-racist bullcrap, but the truth: we love our land, we love our family, and we love our music. We love our Muscle Shoals, and we love the black artists who emerged from it. We love the blues that they invented back in the early-1900's. We play the way we do because we're so imbeded with our modern culture that it's almost like we've been chosen to preach about its modern beauty. And if one of us dies someday, our spirit will live on." [First added to this chart: 04/03/2020]

Acoustic Blues / Acoustic Rock
"I hope you don't mind, but I'm gonna reinvent myself for an album or two, if that's alright. I know a lot of you like it when your favorite artists stick to the same old stuff, but the truth is that my style was originally built for the acoustic guitar. Maybe I can open your mind a bit. There's real poetry when it comes to acoustica, and it's too bad people are too modernized to see it." [First added to this chart: 06/03/2020]
