Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The first half was so full of classics and BEA loved masterpieces, I was slightly put-off. But, I must say that it was still a cool chart, just not too surprising.
Buuuuut... The last half of this chart it got really really really interesting. Lots of surprises and things to check out.
In closing, this is a very very good chart. I love comments. Hook me up with some comments. Pleeeeaaaaassssse.

Great chart focusing in on the compositional aspects of music. I too love the work of Aphex Twin and will explore some of the stuff on here that I haven't heard yet.
I had to chuckle though at your comment on Low by Bowie;
"There are a lot of points in Bowie's catalogue you could pick out, but this is mine."
...I guess that would make it a 'Low' point, right?

Great chart! This forced me to add a lot to my wish list, take DJ Shadow seriously, and realize Koji Kondo's music is on Besteveralbums! I have put Ocarina of time into my best ever list to give it a bump! Great and varied taste man!

Good chart all albums i know very good and i like it interesting is you put Aphex Twin at One. But you have The Beatles here to and so ok some special albums i know but ok i gave you 85 ponts.
