Top 100 Greatest Music Albums ratings
Average Rating = (n ÷ (n + m)) × av + (m ÷ (n + m)) × AVwhere:
av = trimmed mean average rating an item has currently received.
n = number of ratings an item has currently received.
m = minimum number of ratings required for an item to appear in a 'top-rated' chart (currently 10).
AV = the site mean average rating.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 4% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 89.1/100, a mean average of 90.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 90.8/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 6.3.

Indeed a very classical chart - good
Really great chart some classics 20 albums in common and you have included some stuff that I have in my decade charts. An enjoyable read.
This is a cool list! Many of the same are on my top 100. You've got the undisputed late 60s/70s classics sorted, especially in the genres of rock, prog rock, blues, folk, including some hip-hop/rap, jazz and art-rock. A few of my top bands are well represented here. Good to see some alt-rock/grunge artists from90s, maybe reach out further with this. Would be good to see some more jazz-fusion, funk, metal and electronica if any of those genres grab you. Possibly more international artists too.
Feels like the greatest hits of BEA users chart ~ only a few albums are outside the top 10 of their year chart. I always like to see some outliers - some suspense & surprise in a greatest albums chart ~ a sense of individuality & personality. No doubt, over time, that will come and your chart will be much more rewarding & satisfying.
Meant to say, if you like a new world record check out Out Of The Blue. Best ELO album ever
Great chart. If you are only just starting out you have a great chart here. Very impressive
Classics all the way!
I see you like Dylan- try The Band, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen.
You liked Rumours and Fleetwood Mac (1975)- Try Tusk
You liked London Calling and Marquee Moon - Maybe try the rest of the clash's discography, the Sex Pistols, the Slits, Black Flag, The Descendents, X, the Pogues, and the Violent Femmes
You liked Ready to Die, All Eyez on Me, Straight Outta Compton, Madvillainy, and TPAB, Igor, and Blonde. You should try the rest of Tyler's discography and maybe try to roll it back to earlier rap, even into the early 80's like Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and the Sugarhill Gang.
You like Kind of Blue - Try the rest of Davis's discography, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderly, Dave Brubeck, Wayne Shorter, and some vocal jazz like Ella Fitgerald, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, and Frank Sinatra.
If you listen to Davis's Bitches Brew and you enjoy it - try Santana, Alice Coltrane, Chick Corea, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Billy Cobham.
If you've just started last year, you're going fast. You've got the classics figured out it seems. You can go everywhere from here. Well, I do see a blind spot with electronic music however. Trip hop, house, techno, ambient, EDM (why not), and the millions of subgenres. Looking forward to see where you're going with this.
at least I have diversity in my picks. I don't wish to tank your chart's average rating, but I think I would put it around the 75 mark, as you did with mine.
