This album is as close to perfection as it can apparently get. The mood is set from the first heartbeat until the last, there isn't an unnecessary moment in the whole record. If I could introduce the music of Planet Earth to aliens with one record, this would be it.

This would without a doubt be the best record of all time in my book, if only the ending was a bit stronger. However, the sheer number of amazing songs present, and the atmosphere are incredible, it feels like communicating with someone who speaks a different language. What an amazing experience!

The initial idea was to have A side with songs by John, and B side with songs by Paul (thus mirroring the separation that was ongoing within the band itself), but a compromise was made where instead they bunched up a lot of semi-finished tracks into one giant medley taking up almost entire B side of the record. What an ingenious idea! This record represents The Beatles at their most mature, and even though the tensions were high, the chemistry still existed, and they showed the extent of their craft on this record.
