Of course a 5-star album, but it counts for the '60s, and 1967, in my book.

Sue me, this is my only 5-star album of the teens. I just think her singing voice and the singles here are undeniable, and the album tracks are fine.

Wherein they maximize their strengths, but the highs aren't quite as high as on Lungs. I really don't care for them after this album. But this one is baroque pop ear-candy. 4.5 stars. The only 4.5 for this year.

Slippage from their earlier standards, but not as bad as many seem to think it is.

As with their debut LP, I feel as though I am underrating my own opinion of the album. Need to revisit it, and I imagine it will rise when I do.

This gets slagged a lot, but I like their prog stuff better than I do the first four (straight death metal) albums. Its biggest crimes to me are 1) being their first album not to include metal elements, and 2) not being as good as their subsequent four albums.
