Here we have a damn talented singer-songwriter, who knows exactly what she artistically wants. On Sincerely E, Elizabeth levitates towards it. She got a nice voice, a knack for good piano playing, even the topics are on key. But the album's one big shortcoming is its songwriting; too much of the times, e.g. she seem pretty unfocused at how to proper write a pristine song with the right amount of words. There are also a few spots where she 'tries' to experiment a little further instrumentally with the voice as a drum on sha-la-la and This Rose Comes To Life and honestly lets those songs down significantly, at least compared to songs besides them.
But when she has fully realized how she is going to be that artistically great singer-songwriter with an old soul as she is striving for (and mostly succeeds), she will make a body of work that'll blow me away. That I'm confident to say. Because the highest moments here, especially the wonderful and magical Pop The Placebo (wanna 2021's best songs), proves that Elizabeth actually is there already.
