One 30 minute song, with much going for it (especially in the noisier parts), but a few moments here and there keeps it from being a consistently thought-out project. Those parts can be found from the 13 to 19 minute mark, feels superficially styled without truth in it. This is not Orchid level screamo, but it isn't striving for that style, which is to Territorios benefit. I mostly enjoy it, and to emo/screamo/punk fans, I still recommend. The spanish group Wild Honey reaches a golden peak of foreign intimacy on the album's closer Nueva Zelanda. How the song twists around stars of strange emotions, is something to remember. Even a little bassline is the icing on the cake. A moment when bittersweetness and lost-and-found observation (especially in the "voice memo" melodies) once and for all is great. Not particularly extraordinary, but great.
The rest of Ruinas Futuras does not touch it. To summarize it, is all essentially above-average sunshine pop with a little bit of indie approaches here and there. The circumstances and story behind it is more wholesome than the result. [First added to this chart: 05/26/2025]
