I'm not so sure I understand the "too much indie" criticism, especially since, as you suggest, "indie" has become fairly incoherent as a genre label. It used to mean "released on an independent label," and then it became "not mainstream," and then many of the artists formerly labeled "indie" (The National, Arcade Fire, Deerhunter, Arctic Monkeys) achieved stardom. So I don't know what it means anymore. Genre categories can be useful, but I'm not convinced about that one.
As for your chart, I'm still really enjoying Wakin on a Pretty Daze (an album I'm happy to see getting some love on BEA), Torres's self-titled debut (I was thrilled to get to see her play live in support of that one), Same Trailer Different Park (great way to turn Nashville country on its head), and Random Access Memories (Daft Punk's high-water mark). I can see all of those making their way higher up in my own 2013 chart.

I feel like the new Sabbath record was sort of uneven, but it was still pretty good; better than Sabbath at their weakest. Still have a lot of 2013 catchup I have to do, personally.
