"The best film scores help to expand what is on the screen, enhancing the drama, building tension, signifying story changes and conveying emotion. But with Amadeus, that usage is taken to a far greater extent; the music itself becomes one of the core parts of the production, defining the character..."  [+]  Reply

"As a seventeen year old I was impacted by the bombast and sonic power on show. My stereo struggling to cope with the loudness of the record, presumably set with the intent to blow your amp. Great tracks include where were you hiding when the storm broke, the lovely tell me and the stand out decei..."  [+]  Reply

"You gotta love his raw vocal style in this album - even when the melody from "Sunlight Bathed The Golden Glow" is repeated another two times later in the album, it's a great melody (has the same syllables in a line and everything)."  Reply

"A great eighties album which still sounds fresh to me today. Good flow from start to finish. 'The Riddle' and 'You Might' shine through as favourites for me. I remember seeeing Nik Kershaw at the Cornwall Coliseum in the eighties and was so impressed when he moved from keyboards to guitar to drum..."  [+]  Reply

"A drama in the making, too dramatic to be told. The guy on the cover in his last seconds of his life before being killed, that's the story of the band and of this unenven album. Some songs carry a beaty I could never forget, a beauty of hurt, as it sounded from several records in the first half o..."  [+]  Reply

"I think Word Of Mouth is The Kinks' best album of the 80's. That doesn't make it one of the best albums of the band because we are still miles away from their great output of the late 60's and early 70's, but nonetheless, this album is enjoyable. I'm usually not particularly a fan of Dave's songs..."  [+]  Reply

"The Double Fantasy project was to release both a John and a Yoko album mixed together into two 1/2 album each. John was murdered just some weeks after the sessions for the second album began. The project was locked and then a couple of years later Yoko compiled 6 tracks John was working on and pu..."  [+]  Reply
