"Don't lose your mind like that, you may now think this is one of the best records ever, but you'll look back at this comment in one or two years and you'll be like "Oh God, why?" The more you listen to music, the more music has to be special to satisfy you. And this is actually nothing really spe..."  [+]  Reply

"I think this album works as a whole, rather than the sum of its parts - there are no real weal tracks and there is a nice consistency of sound and feel to the album. Afterimage, Red Sector A and Between The Wheels are the best moments."  Reply

"In the late 70's Roger offered two projects to his bandmates of Pink Floyd, it was to be this or "The Wall". I think they did the right thing by choosing The Wall just because it was such a massive, obvious winner of a concept not because this one was no good. The musicianship is great and if any..."  [+]  Reply

"I stood right up in the heart of hell and proclaimed this album a second masterpiece by VF. While some listeners may be turned off by the over religious overtones of some of the songs, I found the music to be eclectic, apoplectic, eccentric, energetic, and affecting. I disagree with previous rate..."  [+]  Reply

"One of those unforgettable records from the mid 80's. Great tracks include What's Love and Better Be Good to Me. Turner's career restarted with a vengeance thanks to this one and it was fun watching that."  Reply

"To me, My War is the story of side 2 of Damaged taken to its final bleak conclusion. Not a pretty picture I'm afraid. A lot harder to route for our protagonist at this point. From a completely musical point of view, Damaged is a far more varied and thus to me more interesting. Quite unique to see..."  [+]  Reply

"Normally I prefer studio versions, but some of the songs here (e.g. Sultans of Swing and Telegraph Road) are so great that I never play the studio versions anymore. Mark Knopfler at his best!"  Reply

"Saw Marillion on Real to Reel Tour in 1984 and only owned this album at the time, played (I believe) all the tracks off this. I am a fan of the Fish era 8 minute plus epics, can happily sit through the 20 odd minutes of Grendel so this is a favourite of mine. Preferred to Script, superceded by Mi..."  [+]  Reply
