"Black Rebel Motorcycle Club started off playing hard rock influenced by British bands such as Led Zeppelin, but on this their third album the band show other sides of themselves, with several songs similar to those of the young Bob Dylan. The acoustic guitar is the most dominant instrument, which..."  [+]  Reply

"LIt took a long time for The Great Destroyer to soak into my thick skull. Eventually, it consumed me. The Great Destroyer is epic and heavy in a subtle way. The lyrics have a dark sense of humor that sneaks up on you. Turn it up, give it time, and Low will crush you."  Reply

"I had never really heard of Coheed and Cambria until my nephew played me the opening track of this album and I was really taken with the synth string arrangement and with the 'Rush like' direction of the album from 'Welcome Home'. Apart from Budgie, I have never heard a vocalist that sounded like..."  [+]  Reply

"A stellar, glimmering portrait of a band at the height of its powers. Tweedy and Wilco captivate and command the attention of the Chicago audience in a way that I have failed to witness on just about any other live recording. Superb."  Reply

"Absolutely MASSIVE post-rock album. Beautiful, ominous, and completely unforgettable soundscapes painted by God Is An Astronaut. This is hands down my favorite post-rock album, and potentially overall album of the 2000s. Unfortunately overlooked by some, but if you appreciate instrumental albums,..."  [+]  Reply

"If all teeny-pop was this sharp and sassy, i'd listen to the radio more. I'm not sure if she has any say in the music composition, but that, her lyrics, delivery and attitude trump contemporaries like Annie (not to mention the teeny pop on radio / video channels). My rating reflects the later uk/..."  [+]  Reply

"I absolutely adore the production on this album; the industrial noise has very limited variety in terms of tone but is incredibly hard hitting. There are tracks where it drags on a little too long, but for me the noise never overstays it's welcome. The rapping is a little underwhelming and the ly..."  [+]  Reply
