Blonde is one of the best albums of 2016, which is easily on of the best years in recent music history. Blonde is interesting, laid-back, and heartfelt. Over a year later this album will still make me tear up while listening to it. In many respects I feel it is superior to Channel ORANGE, however I prefer Frank's more R&B crooner style on that record. Blonde is nonetheless outstanding even with a second half that does not quite live up to it's first.

Once again Kendrick delivers an outstanding project. This record was his explosive introduction into the public eye. I don't think a hip-hop project will ever live up to the amount of esteem and respect I have for To Pimp A Butterfly, but Good Kid is an incredible start to Kendrick's unique way of story telling. This album, just like TPAB, is extremely consistent, and really only falls when Kendrick has guest verses with the likes of Drake. The story is told out of sequence, but is still is follow able. This is the direction that more hip-hop artists need to go in.

I miss the old Kanye! While it is close, Late Registration I feel is Kanye's best work. It is long, however pretty much every track works. The skits, as usual for this period of Kanye's music, are hilarious. This album marks Kanye's turn in my opinion of his more grandiose and orchestral sound, and it's one that works very well on this album with tracks like Touch the Sky and Diamond from Sierra Leone. More than anything, Late Registration is fun. I like fun, and so should you!

The College Dropout is also fun, probably even more fun than Late Registration. In some respects this album outshines it's predecessor. However I feel it has both higher highs and lower lows, which is why I place it just under Late Registration. Kanye is funny as hell on this album and comes of as an endearing and likeable individual. Oh how the times has changed. Kanye has very much moved away from the sound established on this record, but he really brought back the idea of old 60s and 70s soul beats as background to rap music. I will always love tracks like All Falls Down and Slow Jamz. And I could never forget Jesus Walks. Pink polo Kanye is best Kanye.

What's Going On can sometimes be a slow and methodical record, however it creates an almost divine symphony narrated by one of the greatest artists of all time. What's Going On, Mercy Mervy Me, and Inner City Blues are the three standout tracks from this album, and boy do they ever stand out. These three tracks are possibly three of the best R&B/Soul tracks ever created. This album tries to teach the world to be a better place, and it succeeded in my heart. What's Going On means a tremendous deal to me, and I will forever love t.

Stevie Wonder's most famous record is also one of his best. Songs In The Key Of Life is beautiful and grandiose. It contains some of the best tracks of the era like Sir Duke and other unheard gems like Summer Soft. Stevie Wonder is possibly my favorite solo artist of all time, and even though I feel Innervisions is his masterpiece and Songs In The Key Of Life is a bit too ambitious for it's own good, it is still outstanding in it's own right.

This is a bit of a popular choice, but I still love this album none the less. This is probably the most "poppy" choice on my list, but Fleetwood Mac shows they can blend pop, rock, and folk perfectly. There is not a bad track on this album. It has been said 1000s of times that this album is a masterpiece, there is a reason it is one of the best selling of all time. [First added to this chart: 04/06/2015]

Malibu is an underrated gem. Anderson .Paak is an up and coming artist that modern hip hop and R&B fans owe it to themselves to be on the lookout for. Malibu is flawed, many tracks are clearly not of equal quality to one another, however the sound that .Paak establishes on this album is unrivaled. He is an incredibly skilled singer, drummer, and songwriter. He also posses stage presence unheard of in this day and age. Come Down, Am I Wrong, and The Bird are some of my favorite tracks in recently memory. However the middle of this album is a bit shaky and I think 16 tracks was a bit too much for this album. Malibu remains a great project and one I return to often.

Jazz is still a genre that I am sinking my teeth into and already I can tell why Kind Of Blue is an undisputed masterpiece in the jazz world. Davis establishes a tone that remains consistent throughout which stays exciting and extremely relaxing. So What is one of my absolute favorite jazz tracks. I am currently headfirst diving into this new and exciting music world, and while this record may rise and fall with time, I cannot help but deny it's importance and near perfection.

This might be a bit of a personal choice... Okay a lot of a personal choice but hear me out. As a guitarist and singer there is almost no one who has been more influential to me that John Mayer. Continuum is his masterpiece. While not ever song on the album is a winner, every song is sexy as hell. I mean it when I say John Mayer carries a very sexy vibe when he is with his signature Fender Stratocaster. Slow Dancing in a Burning room is a legitimately fantastic song. Up their with the greats in terms of blues. While I wouldn't call this the best record of all time, I would it is my one of my favorites as a musician [First added to this chart: 04/06/2015]

bad logic: "AM's Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not is the best album of the 00's, period." yet you have a couple 00's albums ranked higher....
