A story in this album, so of course it's up here. "The Lover" makes it for me, as do Interludes 3 and 4 (which get their own tracks in my copy, thus the note). [First added to this chart: 10/20/2012]

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 6% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 88.4/100, a mean average of 90.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 90.4/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 8.7.

A nice mix of classics and fairly unique stuff. I'll have to check out those Sparklehorse albums. And, its really interesting to see Ghosts I-IV up there. I always thought it was underappreciated just because of who it was released by.

Awesome chart; it's great to see classics intermingling with contemporary hidden gems like "Rabbits on the Run."

Dude! Your taste in music is so similar to mine!

I've always loved two genres: Alternative Rock and Progressive Rock. Everyone I talk to seems to only fall into one of those two categories, but you, like me, seem to be split somewhere in middle. This deserves a favourite on Sparklehorse alone, I added Good Morning Spider to my top 30 just today.

And ps, you're about to thank me for introducing you to a certain band... check your private messages.

Quite the varied list... I like it! I'd like to see what else you can add to this site. Hooray for Iceland, apparently...
