"Released in the same year Black Sabbath released Heaven and Hell and Saxon released Wheels of Steel. The metal scene at the time was sizzling with new talent and this album with its iconic timeless cover was timed perfectly. Rob Halford's voice has taken me a while to gravitate to but there is no..."  [+]  Reply

"Any album that can transport you to another world as easy as just slipping headphones on is special. This one's super special. Not as groundbreaking as Blue Lines, but the next jump in their game was coming soon enough. A solid place holder to their trip hop throne that's only marred by the last ..."  [+]  Reply

"Karin Dreijer Andersson is one of the greatest minds currently active in pop music. She can write a hook as well as anyone can but then masks it in this dark, almost Lynchian weirdness. Her vocals, manipulated and not, are always compelling even though somewhat alien and usually creepy. And her l..."  [+]  Reply

"In the late nineties and early 2000's, Bruce Springsteen was at a bit of a loss. He had recently reformed the E street band for a successful tour, but Springsteen hadn't released an album of new material since, the ghost of Tom Joad, in 1995. Springsteen was also at his best when he had something..."  [+]  Reply

"A great album. The sound is a little more energetic and confident than Everybody Else is Doing It but it still has that haunting beauty. Tons of great songs. I should replace my copy of this album, it skips really bad on Yeat's Grave."  Reply

"I'm not much of an Elton John fan; too showy and pop style above substance for my taste. However, this is one of my personal favorites and an album I'll never get tired of listening to. It has lyrics that are delivered with real emotion and warmth in tracks like "Someone Saved my Life Tonight" an..."  [+]  Reply

"I listen to this one on vinyl all the time since my uncle gave me an original copy along with Purple Rain. The sum is greater than it's parts for sure as it has a loose concept going on based on the horrible movie Prince directed (The one talent he didn't exactly shine in, though a decent actor)...."  [+]  Reply
