"I think this album is the most underrated and not appreciated of Nick Cave. It is not only an attempt to play blues music. All songs have that much space and quietness to succumb the ominous violence. And even the Dylan cover of Wanted Man breathes heavenly under the impression of The Birthday Pa..."  [+]  Reply

"This guy's a great fuckin' musician. The album is truly inventive and I never paid attention to it. Love the way that its music's structures are vulnerable to the arrangements."  Reply

"I remember I was disappointed when I listened to it for the first time - although (or because) I liked the earlier albums very much. This one grew on me almost everytime I listened to it, and pretty soon it became my favourite Doves album. It is a pity that it still is the last record they released."  [+]  Reply

"Amazing album. Not released until 14 years after Chris Bell's death. It saddens me to think of all the great music he could have made and the possibility that he could have reformed Big Star at some point. Title song, You and Your Sister, Speed of Sound are melodic classics. The album is a must f..."  [+]  Reply

"I assumed quite early on in listening to this album that I wasn’t going to be on board with its quite rigid folksy deconstruction of medieval British life, dedicating a track each to eleven different members of society. I was quickly shut up by the superbly good songwriting, which reaches a peak ..."  [+]  Reply

"Nightwish's best and most eclectic release. Sure, it's cheesy in a few places, but that's just par for the course for the genre. Song of Myself is one of the best songs in the symphonic metal genre (and easily a top-5 Nightwish track) if you exclude the lengthy poem coda (I still like that segmen..."  [+]  Reply

"Really don't think there's much more to add as people below have really summarised it so well. Like all great movies, the soundtrack to Fellowship isn't just an addition to what's on screen, it viscerally conveys the emotions and themes and sheer scale of what plays out. It's one of my favourite ..."  [+]  Reply
