"This is far better than it's dismal rating of 64 would suggest. There are 94 better albums in 2007, I think not. The title track is better every time I play it. Tracks 14 and 18 are also highlights."  Reply

"Sweet cocktail of an album. Strong songs all the way through with a very cool delivery. This album and others popular in urban enclaves at the time -- e..g. Washed Out, Neon Indian, Small Black, Yacht, Yeosayer -- were the soundtrack for life in the bubble of Obama's blue America, especially on t..."  [+]  Reply

"Before there was Brittney Spears and Miley Cyrus, there was Janis Ian, a sensation at 16. This album, recorded when she was 24, not only has "At Seventeen", but a bunch of other fine songs."  Reply

"I see it more as a compilation in the same way as magical mystery tour is. An ep with singles. It's status is improved so much by these singles.rare case that I recommend the compilation over the genuine article."  Reply

"Debatably their best album, Strange Free World had a number of great tracks. My faves were Drive That Fast and Within the Daze of Passion. KoD are often linked with other shoegazer bands but Imo their sound was far more direct. regardless of classification, this is excellent guitar driven stuff."  Reply

Comments:
""to go home" is a good place to start with m. ward in general and "post-war" in specific. He plays indie folk/rock, singer-songwriter material that tugs equally at the head and heart. The production's a little gritty and his vocals are a little down in the mix, emphasizing the musicianship. But t..."  [+]  Reply
