"The guy just knows how to craft a tight track. It's a restrained affair; it almost sounds like a Dinosaur Jr. demo tape. Whether or not that's a good thing probably depends on whether you prefer your rock songs to pack a little more punch. I kinda dig the acoustic take."  Reply

"Oh my god, what a great rock opera that’s concise, doesn’t overstay it’s welcome an, most of all, is fun! Interesting twist within and one of the most enjoyable first listens I’ve had from an album in a bit. Highly, highly, highly recommend!"  Reply

"The Long Ryders debut made a lot of waves in the underground scene of the 1980s. The band brought about a rockabilly revival, inspired by the folk rock of the Byrds and the lyrical depth of R.E.M. Their debut "Native Sons" was a major influence on independent folk and Americana bands. Aside from ..."  [+]  Reply

"I was initially turned off by Ani's apparent anger until my wife urged me to give her a chance. This is the album that turned me. "Tiptoe" is so vulnerable that any wrath she spews afterward is kind of beautiful, a plea for honesty and equality in a world that chews up the weak and spits them out..."  [+]  Reply

"The pinnacle of deep house, "Midtown 120 Blues" emphasises the hugely significant and forgotten cultural importance of house in its introductory track along with the hijacking of this queer culture created by people of colour (see: madonna's vogue) in "Ball'r" whilst deftly providing the tunes th..."  [+]  Reply
