Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.6/100, a mean average of 77.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.7.

Basket Case and When I Come Around are awesome. I like Welcome To Paradise and Long View too, but the rest of the album is not good.

Escucharlo a tope.

One of the more overrated albums from one of the more overrated bands of the 1990's.

Not at all revelatory, but good energy and catchy songs beyond the ones you already know.

I always had issues with people calling this pop punk. It's heavier than the skate/pop punk that came after and even some of the punk rock that came before. Sure it's catchy, but most punk, except for a fair amount of hardcore bands, is catchy.

Not an avid fan of the whole pop-punk genre. But this album deserves it's credit. Most pop-punk bands can maybe manage one or two decent songs in there whole career. Green Day in this put out a whole album of great tracks. And got stronger as they progressed. Double thumbs up to them.

A lot of fun, a lot of energy, cool bass lines, simple yet effective, this is arguably their best album. Overall, 90/100.

I listened through this for the first time after I’d already owned and enjoyed American Idiot, and going backwards to this is definitely apparent. It’s not as good as some of their future endeavors, but still a generally solid album.

My favorites were Basket Case and Chump. Worth a listen and buy

Just punk, pretty good punk at that. They've done their homework. But can only be mindblowing to someone who hasn't heard all the punk that precedes it. Don't see on this album yet why we should add "pop" to the name; it might be a bit more melodic, harmonic even, than usual punk, but punk isn't exactly atonal either.
