Holy Cow ! As I write this June 2018 ...
'Ripe Dreams , Pipe Dreams' is Tame Impala's Cameron Avery's solo album from 2017 & was always on my list for favourite albums from 2017
Today I re-listened to the whole album in preparation for this review & it was during this listen I started thinking how much this album sounded like and reminded me of Arctic Monkey's 'Tranquillity Base Hotel & Casino' in terms of musical content and album mood (For crying out loud the track "The Cry Of Captain Hollywood" may as well be on TBH & C) . It reminded me of TBH & C not a little rather ALOT
So ....
I jumped on-line to check things out and Blow Me Down With A Feather Cameron Avery not only provided backing vocals on TBH & C but is a support act AND current AM band member on their current tour . Very very interesting stuff
Australia has some wonderful male crooners ATM in Marlon Williams , Ryan Downey and now add Cameron Avery to this list honour roll
Oh and this is a great album
