Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.8/100, a mean average of 71.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.9.

A bit overrated, I think.
High quality, funky fun and catchy as heck. Why isn't this at least in the top twenty of 2019 on this site? The rest of the world loves it so why does this site dismiss it? Wonderfully awesome in many ways.
The vocals and the production on this album are great. It's a bit too poppy for me at times (mostly towards the start) but I think it finds its groove after the first few songs. Everything from "Jerome" on is solid, in my opinion. I like "Heaven Help Me" a lot, especially the outro.
Name a song that grooves harder Juice, I dare you.
This album is full of awesome song craft, uplifting bravado, and excellent production. Heavily recommend
85/100 (Very Good)
Originally from Houston, Melissa Viviane Jefferson, aka Lizzo is one of my discoveries of 2019. Lizzo was spotted by Prince, who will invite her to participate in the album "Plectrumelectrum". "Cuz I Love You", his third album, is a brilliant synthesis of soul/funk/hip-hop/R&B particularly enjoyable where abound, besides an obvious love for retrofuturist hip-hop ("Tempo" with Missy Elliott) and funk-rock ("Cry Baby"), many pop winks: the ballad "Jerome" is declined on the chords of "Creep" by Radiohead while "Cuz I Love You" quote the harmonies of "Rock'n'Roll Suicide" by David Bowie. And as confirmed by the irresistible sensation eighties and the single "Juice", this album is a wonderful collection of pop songs about self-acceptance.
8/10
Best track: "Juice"
