I was a bit disappointed with this when I first listened, but the tracks have really grown on me since. It lacks the standout tracks of their previous albums, but it is very solid. There are no bad tracks on the album. And it even contains a 10-minute prog rock-esque song. My highlights are The Runner, Wash Off and Neptune.

Alright but not as fun as part 1. More contrived in comparison. There’s not as much substance.

In the 60’s it wasn’t uncommon for artists to release 2 albums of new material in the same year with The Beatles (twice !) , Dylan and The Doors all achieving this feat. Whilst it is less common these days it still happens with artists such as King Gizzard and Guided By Voices but the the difference with these albums is they actually aren’t very good unlike the 60’s contemporaries
Fast forward 50 years to 2019 and not only did we have 2 artist release 2 albums this year but the 4 albums are quite awesome and of course I am talking about Big Thief’s ‘U.F.O.F’ / ‘Big Hands’ and Foals ‘E.N.S.W.B.L Parts 1 and 2 ‘
If this is going to be a growing trend in modern music then I’m all for it
