"I think Word Of Mouth is The Kinks' best album of the 80's. That doesn't make it one of the best albums of the band because we are still miles away from their great output of the late 60's and early 70's, but nonetheless, this album is enjoyable. I'm usually not particularly a fan of Dave's songs..."  [+]  Reply

"It's a good album - the first 2-3 tracks are excellent but falls into a comfort zone from there on that it never really recovers from... Not their best (IMO) but very much worth it if you already like them."  Reply

"I don't like this as much as "horses" or "radio ethiopia" but I wanted to put it here because it is a more mature patti, more positive, uplifting and embracing than her first two albums."  Reply

"This album has some very high highs, some of the best pop-rock songs of the decade. As a live band they seemed unique and full of neurotic energy like a 60s mod pop band. I wore these songs out for about a year and saw them live three times."  Reply

"I was hugely disappointed in this album when it first came out, but it has really grown on me over the years. In addition to the two big hits (Athena and Eminence Front) there are some good deep cuts like One At A Time and Why Did I Fall For That. I suspect it's only so despised because it's a pa..."  [+]  Reply

"The Double Fantasy project was to release both a John and a Yoko album mixed together into two 1/2 album each. John was murdered just some weeks after the sessions for the second album began.
