Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 83.9/100, a mean average of 79.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 82.8/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 19.1.

One entry one list! GREAT CHOICES! I'm a 60/70's fan aswell
wooo Yes, Spirit and Todd Rundgren :D
Court and Spark! Fine album by a fine singer/songwriter/artist. It's nice to see the "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" album near the top too!
good list!
Joni Mitchell #1? Well done! I'm not appalled at all...
Actually I HAVE listened to them before, but not with that particular plan of listening. Maybe I'll give them another try. At the moment, though, my opinion is that they're not #1 and #2 album material (not that they're not good albums.)
Well I can't say I'm 55... Or even out of high school... And I'm appalled by your top two choices... But did I see jethro tull? Deep purple Machine head? Yes Close to edge? AWESOME! A very good selection and balance of some very good albums.
I would have filled all 5 stars if it weren't for Album #50 on your chart ...lol great list!!!
old school music.. like it
Love your chart, agree with everything you said, I just turned 55 also, I still get so turned by all of the new music, its all connected, its all a great form of communication.
