Patman360 04/22/2014 22:27 in Musical random chat“The irony is that I know very little about Irish music, despite what my name and nationality might suggest. I am fixing that though. That's perfectly understandable, I didn't really know much about Irish music until I was 18 or so and started going out to gigs in pubs and the like... Hot Press have…”

Patman360 02/17/2014 18:39 in Chart talk“So I've been putting this together for awhile now, it's basically my favourite publication list I've ever come across because, for the most part, it's dominated by little known Irish stuff that is actually fantastic. Sure, it has got all the U2, Van Morrison, Thin Lizzy, etc. albums in there and…”

Wow! How did you do this? Surely you haven't listened to all of these albums. Or Have you? I am very impressed. I would love to do this with albums that came out of Texas, but I fear I may not be up to the challenge. Well done!

I'm no great authority on Irish music but the Horslips "Belfast Gigs" would be top of my list. A brilliant live album.

For the top 100, I've heard the majority of them, still a small few avoiding me but I intend on having them soon, a lot of these are common enough in Ireland so it isn't too hard I guess. If you're interested in any of these let me know and I can try help with links if you're stuck or whatever. Cheers for the comment and rating, same goes to you Brandon!

They released the initial top 100 in 2004, then revamped and bumped it up to 250 albums in 2009, hence the lack of albums like MBV and whole load of other bands.

Probably stuff like MBV, James Vincent McMorrow, Two Door Cinema Club, Villagers, Glen Hansard, etc.
Squarehead, Adebisi Shank and ASIWYFA have all put out great albums since this list was released.
