Top Albums By Top BEA Members by

Basically I was bored and browsing charts on BEA (How else would one spend their free time?) and I thought it would be cool to see a chart featuring the top album for the top 100 BEA members, unfortunately not every user has an overall chart or has it on private, while some users will naturally have the same album at number 1. To combat this I decided to continue past 100 in terms of members where necessary, also, if an album is already chosen I will choose that users second album and so on. I'll try keep it up to date. Let's see how this turns out...
Edit: New rule (Basically due to Pam and her Album of the Day system, we miss you Pam), if all the album on a users chart are already taken up, that user will miss out until the next change that occurs allowing one of their albums onto the chart.
(Also if you don't want your name involved for whatever reason, let me know, it's cool with me)

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

What a great idea, Patman. I thought about it last night and see you've beaten me to it by a country mile. :-)
I'm still way way off contributing to your chart (another 7,000 points). But when I do, I'll be able to contribute an album not on your chart yet.
