On release this got little attention. The decision of the record company to release She's A Girl and I'm A Man was a mistake as its the worse track on the album. Side 1 which features orchestral strings is quite wonderful. With Margo's Waltz and There For Her Lloyd Cole composer 2 of his best songs - swooning masterpieces.

Although their glory days from the early 70s seemed long gone Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell rallied to produce this fine collection of songs which harks back to their original sound. The songs are poignant and nostalgic especially on the wonderful Sleeper Train. Highly recommend.

At the time this came out I was completely disillusioned with modern music and then I heard Mr Jones and bought the album and all the tracks were of the same great quality. A meld of Dylan, The Band and Van Morrison but somehow unique.

Darden Smith has been quietly making superior albums since the 90s. On this album his Country origins are mixed with pop and rock and create a fantastic hybrid album. From the infectious Frankie and Sue to the heartfelt Fall Apart At The Seams.

Really appreciate such compilation of 70's California, especially Burritos, lots of the rare stuff and Jackson Browne in top 5

These are some of my favourite albums of all time which I listen to on a regular basis. I recall watching a tv show about classic albums and a well known rock star cited The Beatles Sargent Peppers as the best album ever recorded but then went on to say he hadn't listened to it for 20+ years. That to me is a contradiction. A classic album should be one you enjoy on a regular basis and not just recognised for its historic value. So here's a mixed bag - classics and little known records - all my favourites
