Noname's Telefone is easily the most low-key hip hop record of the year. The production sounds genuinely homebrewed, and Noname's Lou Reed-esque vocal carelessness is made of the stuff that originally made me fall in love with guys like Stephen Malkmus. As the year winds down, I can see myself spinning this with a glass of champagne after everyone's gone to bed on Christmas evening. [First added to this chart: 09/11/2016]
