Produced by Pink Floyd. A moving, stunning piece of art. This album flows together like no other, and the entire mood and atmosphere is consistent throughout. Not just lyrically...this is musically as sound a concept album as there is. It still sells a gazillion copies to this day, and is revered for good reason. This is a sonic masterpiece that has yet to be even close to duplicated over what is now 40 years plus. Perfect in every way, pleasing to every sense, beautiful in the rarest of ways. Produced by Pink Floyd. One of my favorite front to back listens ever. To me, this album puts all progressive rock records to shame. Shine On You Crazy Diamond is a monster of a track, and throughout the album David Gilmour proves more than ever that you don't have to play a million notes on the guitar to be brilliant. The title track is one of the most beautiful songs ever, and the overall mood of the album is as strong as anything you'll ever hear. This and Dark Side alternate as my Floyd favorites. Produced by Bob Ezrin, David Gilmour, James Guthrie and Roger Waters. I went through a long period where I couldn't stand this album...probably because of the sound of Waters' ego growing with each song. But I can't deny that this is a great sounding and amazing piece of work. A real concept album, a trip down the road of madness and loaded with incredible moments. It isn't sprawling like Dark Side or Wish You Were Here, but that's part of it...they show that they could do it even in quick, short bursts as well. Well played! Too much emphasis on classic rock for a higher rating than 80 sorry. Not a single German album in a decade that was defining for the German music scene??
