The decade starts with Elvis/Little Richard/Chuck Berry/Jerry Lee and doo-wop running the show. The Beach Boys are hot 1961-1964, the mop tops show up on the Ed Sullivan and we're off. It's the decade were post adolescents find their voice. Sex, drugs and rock & roll! Monterey, Woodstock & Altamont. Perfection, Production, Tragic end of the dream. The vibes were innocent because the consequences were unknown. Possibilities were unlimited. The music was magical. The 45 inch single still ruled through the decade. Motown was everpresent leading the way. I'm rambling...

Pretty much any 60s chart is going to be be great, but this is one of the better ones I've seen.

Great list, while a lot of 60's chart focuses more on the psychedelic side of the 60's this one focuses more on the Britisch Beat music and the country side of the 60's. For example the Beatles albums on this chart are from their early period.

Great chart illustrating just how phenomenally creative and diverse the scene was in the sixties. The fact is your 100 albums list represents the tip of the iceberg. There are many more obscure gems (see, for example, my list).
