I do listen to jazz... I am a big fan actually but the sixties is when music as an art shifted from genre defined artists such as jazz, rock n roll, blues, and country artists to the new psychedelic and experimental music the sixties quickly became known for. I'm not saying jazz was dead then; nor is it dead now but the best artists of the 60s, with the exception of a few were not jazz artists. I'm not one for genres though... I think they are a sad attempt at describing the sounds we here in one or two words. I could answer your question better if you were more specific... like which jazz artists are you speaking of?
