My Guilty Pleasures List. Not likely to be featured on anyone's "Best Of" lists. These albums put a smile on my face every time I play them. Great for getting out of a blue mood.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 2% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 90.4/100, a mean average of 93.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 93.8/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 4.9.

Not sure what's guilt inducing about robyn hitchcock unless it's some kind of big dysphoria moment, but putting that aside it's a fun personal statement of a chart which I always prefer.

Refreshingly fun chart! Ween Pure Guava is great! It's on my all-time chart. "Guilty Pleasures" are still good if you enjoy them. The point of music is enjoyment. The guilty pleasure term was created so you don't have to feel as awkward choosing something that your average person might find bad. If it's fun and you enjoy it then it doesn't matter what other people think.

There shouldn't be guilty pleasures at all, let's just enjoy the music without minding the joyless music critics reviews.

Loving the love for the 80s... :) ‘Colour by Numbers’ is a great number 1 - brings back happy memories for me and not something I would feel any guilt about AT ALL :)

It’s certainly different. It’s certainly fun. It’s certainly a list curated by the Jennifer Love Hewitt fan club.

I would prefer it without all of the compilations but it definitely stirs the coffee

Amazing chart. Never seen so many obscure LP's in a top hundred before. As a confirmed addict of the weird & obscure i congratulate you on your conviction to the lesser known gems that others may not know about. Although our tastes are vastly different, you might be interested in my charts on top BEA members most obscure favourite albums. Which your No 3 (Jennifer Love Hewitt), has just been entered in.

TBH your comment on Murder Ballads is one of the top comments I've read on this site, that's why I've come here. And the chart is equally fun. Keep it up!
