Enigmatic, with raw energy, and astounding power. The sheer tenacity and tangiblness of the pain on When I Have Fears is phenomenal. Some its tracks, like For Everything, skulk across your speakers as though squaring up to fight you. Others, like the achingly painful On Twisted Ground, hurt like nothing else. The composure of the record, and the deftness with which it delivers its textured, raw darkness, is an outstanding achievement. Every single moment is utterly compelling.
