Unironic Masterpiece. Every piece fits on a perfect thematic level and it avoids a big pitfall of using classic pop tunes by having the most recognizable tunes be covered by newer artists in order to better fit the film. DONT SLEEP ON SHREK 2

GOTGV2 is probably my favorite non Avengers MCU movie (It might be tied with No Way Home though who knows) There's so much emotion used in every single track. My personal standout being the diegetic use of Brandy as a plot device that is referenced multiple times in the film. Also, wham bam shang a lang during the air raid with the yellow folks is beautiful.

The score isn't anything super memorable but gosh dang Edgar Wright knows how to use pop music in a movie to comedic and dramatic effect. T. Rex's teenage dream alongside Scott feeling bad about breaking up with his girlfriend for two seconds before he moves on to the next one. Beachwood Sparks version of By Your Side as he goes on his first date with Ramona, or a brief clip of Anthems For a Seventeen Year Old girls as he awkwardly walks past his heartbroken ex.
