Top 100 Music Albums of 2022 by DommeDamian

2022, the beginning of a new, album journey.

Hey reader. Can you please listen to my new album Healium; it's out on every streaming platform. I worked really hard on it and all the other clichés I could say but I seriously hope you will listen to it.

Like I know he sounds like he's just fumbling around on the guitar and singing random stuff but it's still very pleasant and somehow feels pretty innocent and that I love. One song I didn't like but the others I enjoyed, the best being Illini Blues followed close by New Blues. Hands down better than his sleepy RAP Ferreira works.

Oh yeah, what I have been sorta looking for in metal; people playing simple but effective riffs, a singer that not only doesn't suck but also fits the aesthetic of the songs and give them more purpose, and catchy tunes. Thank you Maule, go chicken!

Okay, points off for being satanic and kind of repetitive and not living up to the hype banger of the first track but still, pretty cool stuff, and really cool stuff for metalheads/AOR-fans out there.

Woah this starts out good with some avant-garde jazz. Then it gets even greater when it gets freaky. Yet the last few cuts gives in to insufferable jazz-noise that not only pales in comparison to how Water & Tools starts, but feels disrespectful being on the same disc. This was so close to breaking the top 50.

This feels like a typical semi-commercially successful pop-rock emo grunge typea band from the 2000s with a sharp production, but the fact that these joints are charmingly well-written really does it all a favor. Yeah man I do enjoy it.

I really like Post-Metal.
And this is another case of another actual good vocalist, that just adds to the atmosphere of sludgy guitars and stellar drumming. Not everything is hitting, and it is not amazing, but the best moments are worth writing home about.

Die Nerven has substance as well as a simple style to it. Out of all the Post-Punk releases that I have heard this year, this certainly is one of the more accessible, yet absolutely not one of the worst ;)

Right up my alley in terms of Jazz but something is missing. These tracks are very airy but not atmospheric, otherlifely but not spiritual nor metaphysical. This album sounds like they recorded a jazz record in a haunted house with a high ceiling. Except the starter Asynchronous Intervals which sounds like they did it on the roof on a fall evening

Psychedelic rock revival in the making.
They actually manage to touch some of the peaks their influences had half a century ago.
Not a small feat. Not at all.
Though the album falls apart in the last leg.

Now, in context that I just heard Sick! by Earl Sweatshirt right before From A Bird's Eye View, this has much more life to it. It's groovier (albeit some beats sound much more R&B than hip hop), more rhythmic, and there is more to come back to. Not everything is hitting, but some ideas around it is pulled off solidly. Also, an Eminem feature is nearly always a win, like here on the already fire instrumental.

This is probably one of those albums that I really like on first listen, but end up loving on later repeated ones. EDIT: Eh, not really, still good though.

@LedZep thank you mayn. That really means a lot. I had a quick look at your highest rated 2022 albums and I have listened to pretty much all of it though, so yeah different taste but we're different, mate. :)

Feels carefully crafted, with a lot of attention to detail and interesting write-ups. Probably my fave 2022 chart, even though we're not exactly listening to the same styles.
